Only a quarter of UK Universities are on track to meet their carbon reduction targets by 2020

The results of the 2016 People and Planet survey show that 75% of Universities in the UK are behind on their targets to reduce their carbon footprint by 2020.

The study has ranked 150 UK Universities and Colleges in a league table based on their findings about many topics such as the environmental policies, worker’s rights, waste & recycling as well their carbon management and reduction.

Sustainability is a huge concern for all businesses, with the Higher Education sector being no different. An eShare study for last year’s World Paper Free Day highlighted that 47% of people surveyed said that there was a lack of management initiatives to move away from paper in their organisation.

Moving to a paperless solution is not only better for the environment, but also saves time, improves security and crucially, saves money. The cost savings of moving to a paperless solution can be found here in another study that eShare conducted.
