BoardPacks is a user friendly, intuitive online board portal designed around improving the efficiency of board meetings. The portal is a paperless solution that makes a noticeable difference for the board members, executives and trustees attending but also for the administrators setting up these meetings. Being able to help administrators use their time better and prepare meetings easier is exactly why we are excited to attend next week’s AUA Conference at the University of Manchester.
With all the materials in one place and easily accessible for everyone involved, administrators will find organising meetings becomes a far more streamlined and smooth process making their life easier. The theme of this year’s conference on 26 and 27 March focuses on the complexities faced by Brexit and operating in such an uncertain climate with almost exactly one year before the deadline, a subject eShare have been discussing at other events around Europe across a wide range of sectors. The anxiety felt by staff in education is very much mirrored across all industries.
The AUA acts as a voice for higher education professionals, while on the other hand helping its members to define and develop their career ambitions. It uses a simple but powerful approach to connect members and develop their professional credibility through sharing, learning and encouraging best practice. One of its most useful tools for this is the AUA Conference.
The conference is hosted once a year, giving administrators from universities and colleges from all over the UK the chance to engage and discuss any key issues facing the sector. With the 2018 theme being Brexit, the conference will look at the challenges this poses to institutions in higher education such as the ability to attract overseas students, and rekindling links with other overseas partners outside of the EU. This year’s conference will also outline how they will be embracing uncertainty, defining its purpose while sustaining successful professionals.
An important question asked of attendees will be ‘how will the higher education sector adapt to the new conditions as well as demonstrating to the government and public its value?’ The association understand that they have to move forward and the best way to do this is to be armed with knowledge as well as being willing to explore and embrace the opportunities available.
That very sentiment can be summed up very neatly as the ability to make clear and decisive decisions. Without being able to act efficiently and effectively on key decisions, institutions may soon find themselves being left behind in the months ahead. Secure access to the right information at the right time is vital in this process, which is exactly why colleges and universities across the UK have been implementing sophisticated solutions, such as BoardPacks or MeetingSquared, to assist them in making their meetings more effective and allowing them to make decisions with full accountability and transparency.
The solutions have already helped many of the UK’s leading universities, including Derby, Durham, Leeds, Queens Belfast, York and Exeter, who provided a case study for us, available to read here.
This is a sector we know, understand and feel strongly that we can help hence why we will be demonstrating our solutions throughout both days at the conference.
In addition to the eShare stand – where lucky visitors can enter a draw for some of our famous Star Wars prizes – there is an interesting programme of speakers and seminars to enjoy. The programme features a wide range of speakers speaking on a host of different topics surrounding Brexit and operating in the next 12 months and beyond.
The AUA Annual Conference and Exhibition takes place at the University of Manchester, 176 Oxford Road, Manchester, M13 9QQ. We will be exhibiting at stand 6.
